I first got the inspiration for the October theme photo from one of the photos at the exhibition Once upon a dream by Egyptian photographer Yussef Nabil at the Grassi Palace in Venice. I wanted to recreate his work, in which the legs of two men touch. I was impressed by the almost erotic feel of the photo. But as soon as they introduced a curfew in Slovenia and restricted our movement to municipalities, my thinking turned to other waters. I moved from an erotic touch to how this whole new situation touched us all. It affected me in such a way that I no longer had the practical possibility of moving freely outside the 15 square kilometers of the Šempeter-Vrtojba municipality. Which seemed absurd to me, as I didn’t understand how my departure to nature, where I don’t meet other people, could affect my encounter with the virus. That touched me deeply.

The first day, when I was no longer allowed outside my community and was no longer allowed to have visits after 9pm, I therefore created a gloomy photo at night where the main element of the vine branches touching the home house are all under the reflection of an almost full moon. All this gloom reflected my inner well-being. At some point, however, I felt that I didn’t want this negative ordeal to touch me forever. So I continued to explore the theme.
The colors of the presented photo indicate autumn time, the leaves are treated in yellow tones and nature is preparing for the arrival of winter. A prominent element of photography is the barbed wire that intersects the frame.
The rusted wire touches the leaf of the plant, which will soon fall off and become one with the earth. Next year, the plant growing there will turn green again, and maybe some other leaf will touch that rusty barbed wire again. But maybe not, and the wire will be there someday just as a reminder of the moment when it once damaged the leaf with a touch.
I also wish that one day we will be able to look at the current situation as something that has touched us and taught us that we need to adapt to each situation and learn to live with it. But not to face it in a violent way.

Navdih za fotografijo oktobrske teme sem sprva dobil na eni izmed fotografij razstave Once upon a dream egipčanskega fotografa Yussefa Nabila v beneški palači Grassi. Želel sem rekreirati njegovo delo, na katerem se dotikajo noge dveh moških. Navdušil me je skorajda erotični pridih fotografije. Toda, čim so v Sloveniji uvedli policijsko uro in nam omejili gibanje na občine, se je moje razmišljanje obrnilo v druge vode. Iz erotičnega dotka sem prešel na to, kako se je vsa ta novonastala situacija dotaknila vseh nas. Name je vplivala tako, da nisem imel več praktične možnosti, da se prosto gibam izven 15 kvadratnih kilometrov šempetrsko-vrtojbenske občine. Kar se mi je zdelo absurdno, saj nisem razumel, kako bi lahko moj odhod v naravo, kjer ne srečujem drugih oseb, lahko vprlival na srečanje z virusom. To se je me je globoko dotaknilo.
Prvi dan, ko nisem več smel izven moje občine in ni bilo več dovoljeno imete obiske po 21. uri, sem zato ponoči ustvaril mračno fotografijo, kjer so glavni element veje trte, ki se dotikajo domače hiše, vse pod odsovem skorajda polne lune. Vsa ta mračnost je odražala moje notranje počutje. V nekem trenutku pa sem začutil, da ne želim, da bi se me ta negativna preizkušnja dotaknila za vedno. Zato sem nadaljeval z raziskovanjem teme.
Barve predstavljene fotografije nakazujejo na jesenski čas, listje je obravano v rumene tone in narava se pripravlja na prihod zime. Izstopajoči element fotografije je bodeča žica, ki preseka kader.
Rjaveče žice se dotika list rasline, ki bo tako ali tako kmalu odpadel in postal eno z zemljo. Nasledje leto bo rastlina, ki tam raste, ponovno zazelenela in morda se bo nek drug list zopet dotaknil taiste rjaste bodeče žice. Morda pa tudi ne in bo žica nekoč tam samo kot opomnik na trenutek, ko je takrat z dotikom poškodovala list.
Enako si želim, da bomo nekoč lahko gledali na trenutno situacijo, kot na nekaj, kar se nas je dotaknilo in nas naučilo, da se moramo vsaki situaciji prilagoditi in se naučiti živeti z njo. Ne pa se z njo soočiti na nasilen način.

The photo was taken at a jazz concert in Nova Gorica. When we listen to music, we do not think about the role of touch in its creation. As soon as they are instrumental in the play, it becomes obvious that without touch there would be no music.

One day I went to pick mushrooms in the Karst. After a few minutes of walking, however, my attention was drawn to the terrain where one large digger was parked.
"What's going on here?" I wondered. Since there was no one anywhere, I went to look and saw one large hole about 10 m in diameter and 8 m deep, and around the hole were pieces of ungrown earth. The color and texture of the karst soil was very interesting to me and it just called for me to touch it. The sun was shining pleasantly and as I approached the ground with my hand, I noticed how a clear shadow I was creating on the ground. “It will be interesting to make photos,” I told myself. I changed my hand pose a bit ... and yes, I chose this for the Touch theme, although I had something else in mind for that theme. In this photo I also like that you can imagine connecting with one finger and touching the entire planet called Earth. |

Touch plays an important role in the time and space of anyone, anything. It always leaves an imprint or feeling and a memory of it. Like this gave me a walk around Nova Gorica. A leisurely walk on a sunny morning with observation of the neighborhood. In the lens I caught the blue color of the hood of the car on which rested the colorful autumn leaves. A touch of warm colors with cold. A harmonious combination of orange, yellow, ocher, brown and red with blue. The photo awakened in me pleasant feelings of warmth, tenderness, as well naughty with a mix of morning freshness. I am grateful to her. To whom or to what? I leave that to your imagination.
SLO // DOTIK Dotik ima pomembno vlogo v času in prostoru kogarkoli, česarkoli. Vedno pusti odtis ali občutek in spomin nanj. Takšnega mi je podaril sprehod po Novi Gorici. Umirjena hoja v sončnem jutru z opazovanjem soseščine. V objektiv sem ujela modro barvo avtomobilskega pokrova motorja na kateri je počivalo pisano jesensko listje. Dotik toplih barv s hladno. Harmonična kombinacija oranžne, rumene, oker, rjave in rdeče z modro. Fotografija je v meni prebudila prijetne občutke topline, nežnosti, pa tudi nagajivosti s prepletom jutranje svežine. Hvaležna sem ji. Komu ali čemu? To prepuščam tvoji domišljiji. |

When I found out about the title of the October theme, I very quickly began to realize how important a part of life touch is. How real life is one gigantic organic mosaic made up of countless touches. From "ordinary" physical "contacts" to almost divine touches.
So I chose a photo of a person whose coming into the world touched me so much that it completely changed my life and thus opened the way to a whole new world of touches that I had hardly known before. The touches that happen every day and yet are so unique that they are unrepeatable and leave an indelible mark on us. In the photo, I captured the satisfaction on the face with a sunny touch on a warm autumn day and finally presented it in a slightly different less normal light than anyone would expect. By doing so, I may have indicated that the times in which we live are also less normal, but touch can be the source of energy that feeds us and gives us strength for the future. |

Ko sem izvedel za naslov oktobrske teme, sem se zelo hitro začel zavedati, kako pomemben del življenja je dotik. Kako je v dejansko življenje en gromozanski organski mozaik, sestavljen iz nešteto dotikov. Od “čisto običajnih” fizičnih “kontaktov” do skoraj božanskih dotikov.
Tako sem izbral fotografijo na kateri je oseba, katere prihod na svet se me je tako dotaknil, da je popolnoma spremenil moje življenje in mi s tem odprl pot v popolnoma nov svet dotikov, ki jih prej skorajda nisem poznal. Dotikov, ki se dogajajo vsak dan in vendar so v svoji vsakdanjosti tako enkratni in edinstveni, da so neponovljivi in puščajo v nas neizbrisen pečat.
Na fotografiji sem tako ujel zadovoljstvo na obrazu ob sončnem dotiku na topel jesenski dan in ga na koncu predstavil v malo drugačni manj normalni luči, kot bi si slehernik pričakoval. S tem pa mogoče nakazal, da so tudi časi v katerih živimo manj normalni, vendar so ravno dotiki lahko tisti vir energije, ki nas hrani in daje moč za naprej.

They say you sometimes have to look over the planks. Yes it is true, many things are hidden from view for one reason or another. It is in human nature to walk straight and look ahead. However, it happens that looking left or right reveals things that are hidden from view. What a man does with them is his decision, perhaps also a matter of his current impulse. In this case, I decided not to tick or change the "matter". I assume the decision was the right one.
SLO // TOUCH Pravijo, da je včasih treba pogledat čez planke. Ja res je, marsikaj je očem skrito iz takšnih ali drugačnih razlogov. V človeški naravi je, da hodimo naravnost in gledamo naprej. Se pa zgodi, da ti pogled levo ali desno odkrije stvari, ki so očem skrite. Kaj človek z njimi naredi, je njegova odločitev, mogoče tudi stvar njegovega trenutnega vzgiba. Jaz sem se v tem primeru odločil, da "zadeve" ne bom tikal ali spreminjal. Predvidevam, da je bila odločitev pravilna. |
SLO // DOTIK
Dotik je bil moj prvi stik s svetom. Prišel je pred mojim prvim vdihom, pred mojim prvim zvokom, pred mojim prvim jokom, pred mojim pogledom in pred mojo prvo besedo. Dotik, je prvi od petih čutov, ki sem ga razvila. Je moje najučinkovitejše komunikacijsko sredstvo. Jezik, ki vedno pove resnico. Koža je najstarejši, najobsežnejši in najobčutljivejši organ za stik s svetom. Zato dotik povezuje moje doživljanje sveta z doživljanjem sebe. Je čut, na katerega se popolnoma zanesem, saj ko se nečesa dotaknem, se mi razkrije resnica. Stik z živim bitjem, spusti na dan vsa moja čustva. Dovolj je, da sem v njegovi bližini in že začutim njegovo energijsko polje. Z dotikom pa povzročiva elektromagnetni stik, ki steče skozi moje telo ... v trenutku, ga resnično doživim. Saj ko se nekoga dotaknem, sem pri tem tudi sama "dotaknjena". |

V današnji digitalni dobi, pa je v svetu doživljanja prevladal vid. V vizualno naravnani družbeni resničnosti, oko vdira v svet in posameznika. Samozadostnost in agresivnost vida grabi in fiksira, konkretizira, dominira in nadzoruje. Zato družba nadzora poveličuje vid, organ distance in ločenosti.
Jaz pa gledam dlje od vidnega polja vida... Saj vedno izberem dotik, čut bližine, zaupnosti in nežnosti... Saj se zavedam, da sem bitje ljubezni. Na fotografiji:
Rada, se vsak dan dotikam te, toplino tvojo čutim in objemam te, Zlivam in spuščam v tvojo se globino, spet izplavam in odsevam, nad tvojo se gladino. S teboj v sozvočju, združiva se v eno … premešava v enotno, celoto se svileno. Polepšava z objemom, vsakomur dan, kdor naju zaželi si, ga zbudiva iz sanj. Tekoči sva, prisotni vsakemu v vsakdanu. Ob sončnem vzhodu se zbudiva kot po planu, gotovo spet, se snideva v dopoldnevu … in vem... nepogrešljiva sva... v popoldnevu. Se kot kaplja mleka, spet dotikam tebe, kave, preden se pomešava v valovih slave, s soncem jutranjim, ki se odseva name, v skodelici tvoji, okusne bele kave. |
DOTIK
Dotik, moj prvi stik s svetom, takoj zatem, pa moj vdih, z drgetom, v rokah ljubezni, varnega objema, ključnega za klitje, mojega semena. Stik, ki seže, globoko v srce, jezik, ki resnico, vedno pove, z gotovostjo prvi, kot čut se razvije, in vame ljubezen sprejemanja vlije. Sveta se dotikam, na tisoč načinov, kot nežna, resnična, sled spominov, a žal ga je vid, že davno presegel, z matrico zamenjal, kjer ni potreben. V virtualnih svetovih, izgubljate se, sploh niso resnični, a nihče ne ve, z avatarji izginja, vaš pravi stik, v lažnih zgodbah, se zgublja dotik. Vedno povezani, v tehnološki dobi, drsite po pikslih, v zaprti sobi, ste drug ob drugem, a v drugem svetu, sklonjenih glav, na internetu. Ne čutite kože, le stik nevronov, na gladkem ekranu, telefonov, govorite samo, prek mikrofonov, ujeti v spektru, valovanja fotonov. A jaz sem tu, na tem planetu, v telesu čutov, v živem skeletu, izkušnja dotika, mi ne bo odvzeta, jaz odločam, s čim bom prežeta. Nežno dotikam, se tvoje kože, s prsti drsim, med tvoje lase, čutim toploto, tvojega telesa, pridi vame, da vidim nebesa. V ekstaze me vodijo, ustnice tvoje, modre oči, se zrcalijo v moje, nosnice polni, vonj tvojih las, dotik tvojih rok, ustavi mi čas. Vsak tvoj utrip, me spominja na dan, ko prvič prijela, sem tvojo dlan, objel si me tesno, k sebi privil, ustnicam nežno, poljub naslovil. Vnela se želja, dotikov je tvojih, potreba po nežnih, sladkih napojih, prostor ob tebi, na svetu je raj, za vedno pripadam ti, že od tedaj. |
